TCB’s annual production of A Minnesota Nutcracker has been a beloved holiday tradition in the South Metro since its inaugural performances in 2003, and is attended by over six thousand audience members in the course of a single weekend each year. Featuring spectacular dancing and original choreography, A Minnesota Nutcracker retains all the magic and familiar traditions loved by so many, but adds local flair with Minnesota settings and custom designed Minnesota-centric backdrops. Every year, TCB also performs a special matinee performance of A Minnesota Nutcracker for seniors and Elementary & Special Education students in the area.

Twin Cities Ballet is also excited to announce the launch of a new Sensory-Relaxed performance series, beginning with A Minnesota Nutcracker this December! The Sensory-Relaxed performance will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021. A sensory-friendly, relaxed performance enables children and people with sensory sensitivities as a part of autism and/or sensory-processing disorders to experience the art of ballet with relaxed theater rules, such as the house lights staying on, theater doors remaining open, and a designated “quiet zone,” and more, to allow for increased comfort. We are thrilled to be able to share the love of ballet with people who may experience difficulties in a traditional theater setting. TCB believes dance is for everyone!
