Audition for The Twin Cities Ballet

AUDITION FOR 2020/2021 SEASON- IN PERSON AUDITION CANCELLED, VIDEO AUDITIONS ACCEPTED

Twin Cities Ballet is committed to the health and well-being of our community. We want to assure you that we are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and are vigilantly implementing protocols and precautions to help mitigate the spread of illness. We consider the heath and wellbeing of our  dancers, and staff our highest priority. 

We are proactively following the guidelines put forth by the Minnesota Department of Health, WHO, and the CDC. We will follow any protocols that may be put in place by the state of Minnesota.

Therefore, the in person Company Audition on March 29, 2020 is CANCELLED.

We will be accepting auditions via video until further notice.

Video Audition Requirements:

Submit the following Audition materials by email:

  • Your resumé.
  • Two Photos: 1st Arabesque (on Pointe for women) and a Head Shot showing at least 3/4 face. Either attach small format photos or provide a link.
  • Video link including
    • One side only of each barre exercise (plié, tendu, degagé, passé développé en croix, and grand battement)
    • Center work (tendu, pirouettes, adagio, petit allegro, grand allegro)
    • Pointe work
    • A variation from the classical repertoire in the classroom or on stage (this should clearly show your classical ballet technique)
    • A Contemporary variation of your choice
  • State whether you are currently eligible to work in the United States.
  • Let us know which position you are seeking: Salaried Company Dancer, Unpaid Apprentice, or Trainee.
  • Please send information to info@TwinCitiesBallet.org. We will contact you after we have reviewed your audition materials.

Company Positions Currently Available for the 2020/2021 Season:

Company: Soloist and Principal level, competitive salaried position, 34-week season.

Apprentice: Unpaid Apprentice positions for dancers eighteen and older seeking performance opportunities, training, and artistic development to grow, gain experience, and better prepare for a company position.

Trainees: High school-age, for those who wish to receive the finest training available and perform with a professional company alongside professional dancers in professional productions, while on a path to a professional career.

TCB is an innovative professional ballet company that is reigniting passion for ballet through original high-quality performances, including our recent sold-out show Pink Floyd’s The Wall: A Rock Ballet.

Open Company audition for 2021-2022 season TBA. Please bring resume and two photos. No audition fee for professionals or apprentices. $25 audition fee for those applying for Trainee Positions (high school age or younger).

When: 2021 open audition TBA.  Please bring a copy of your CV, headshot, and a first position arabesque (women on pointe) to hand in at the time of registration.

How Much: No Audition Fee for Professional Dancers.
